Mrs. Yocham has worked at Brighton since 1995 and has served as a member of the leadership team since 2005. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from the University of Texas at San Antonio and a Master of Science degree in psychology from Our Lady of the Lake University. Julie is a licensed marriage and family therapist and professional counselor. She currently serves as the Early Childhood Intervention Director.

What do you love most about Brighton Center?

I love that no matter how much we grow or how busy our day gets, we hold on to our fellowship with one another as one big family.

I am always humbled and inspired by the passion and determination staff and families have to helping children reach their dreams.

Ms. Garcia has worked at Brighton since 2008 and has served as a member of the leadership team since 2013. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Texas A&M University in College Station. Monica obtained a Supervisory and Management Certification through the University of the Incarnate Word and the San Antonio Area Foundation in 2019. She is a certified Early Intervention Specialist, an Infant Massage Instructor and currently serves as an Early Childhood Intervention Team Leader.

I love getting the opportunity to work alongside so many wonderfully dedicated and committed people, Brighton Center is like family to me!

What keeps you motivated?

The children and families we serve. They inspire and motivate me on a regular basis and make my job so easy!

I am an early intervention specialist and have been with Brighton for over 2 years. I also have a background in communication disorders.

What is one of the fondest memories you have while working with a child in the field at Brighton?

Although it’s hard to choose one, seeing my kiddos take their first steps is by far my favorite. 

What is the best part of your job?

Bringing families together to meet the needs of their children.

What do you love most about working with children and their families?

The bond that’s created with the children and families.

What inspires you?

The ability to provide children with the necessary tools to overcome their delays.

I studied abroad in 5 countries during my undergrad studies.

I am an early intervention specialist and have been with Brighton almost 2 years.

What is one of the fondest memories you have while working with a child in the field at Brighton?

One of the fondest memories I have had is when a mom and I addressed social interaction between herself and her child. The child was possibly on the spectrum and I coached mom to sing to her child while being face to face. The child was extremely in tune with his mom and she was able to keep his attention for longer than usual. His mom just about cried along with myself, it was beyond a beautiful moment!

What is the best part of your job?

Empowering parents with the knowledge to be successful with their children.

What do you love most about working with children and their families?

Making a difference in each family's life and showing them that they too can carry over strategies and be the best teacher to their child.

What inspires you?

I am inspired by the many accomplishments I get to see daily from each child I work with.

I was considered failure to thrive as a toddler.

Ms. Molina has worked at Brighton since 2018 as a Certified Early Intervention Specialist and has served on the leadership team since 2021. She is fluent in both English and Spanish and holds a Bachelors degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Texas Pan-American. Janelle has been a Licensed Speech Language Pathology Assistant since 2013 and currently serves as an Early Childhood Intervention Team Leader.

I love seeing the Brighton staff engage with families and influence the lives of children.

Hearing stories or compliments from families that Brighton helped their child reach their milestones whether that was through therapy or early education.

The best part of my job is all the relationships that I have built with all my families and their children.

Being a part of the families and children I work with and seeing children master their goals. It feels amazing to be a part of all their accomplishments.

Being assigned an infant, to then watching him grow and make so much progress that he didn't even qualify for services with the school at transition.

What is your position at Brighton Center and how long have you worked for Brighton?

I am an occupational therapist and have been with Brighton for over a year.

What is one of the fondest memories you have while working with a child in the field at Brighton?

One of the fondest memories I have is of a "graduation day" for one of my children and being able to see the progress he had made in the time we had spent together. It was such a bittersweet moment for me. I was so excited and happy to see him moving on and making progress but it was definitely hard to say goodbye after all of the hours spend working with him and his family!

What is the best part of your job?

The best part of my job is spending every day with children and their families!

What do you love most about working with children and their families?

What I love most is being able to empower parents to feel like they have the tools to help their children grow and flourish.

What inspires you?

Anyone who is working hard towards a goal. This could be a child determined to get across a room to get a toy so they learn to crawl or a professional athlete determined to win and be the best of the best.

What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?

I love playing soccer and I ran a marathon!

I am a pediatric physical therapist and I have been at Brighton just over a year.

What is one of the fondest memories you have while working with a child in the field at Brighton?

When I started I was working strictly telehealth with my patients so when we returned to in-person visits I was so excited to finally meeting all of my patients and their families!

What is the best part of your job?

I love seeing my patients make progress. It's why I do what I do! If you love what you do, it isn't work!

What do you love most about working with children and their families?

I was raised by teachers and I am a teacher at heart! I love to educate families and help them understand the reasoning behind the strategies I suggest. Seeing the joy and excitement that they have when they help their children progress makes what I do worth while!

What inspires you?

I am inspired by people that weather everything with a positive attitude and a smile on their face.

I love the Broadway musical Hamilton!

I am a pediatric speech-language pathologist and have been at Brighton for 7 years.

What is one of the fondest memories you have while working with a child in the field at Brighton?

There are so many, but I'll never forget the time that I was at a visit and the child produced their first word (after so many hard working sessions) and mom and I cried because we were both so happy. I still get teary eyed when these little moments happen. I love that I am able to share those happy moments with families.

What is the best part of your job?

Every child is unique and there isn't a speech therapy session that is exactly the same which makes it fun and exciting.

What do you love most about working with children and their families?

Not only do I get to see the children grow, but I also get to watch the parents learn and change how they play with their kids! I also love when older siblings get involved and the whole family is working together.

What inspires you?

Knowing that I'm making a positive difference in a child's and family's life.

What is the best part of your job?

The joy that I get in my heart when I see my students getting better each time that I see them. I enjoy knowing that I am helping the children achieve their goals.

The joy that they see when you genuinely care about how and what they are doing. I love seeing the little smiles on their face when you ask about how they are doing because I really do care about how their feelings and how they are!

What inspires you?

My family inspires me! I see them and I feel like I need to work harder and do more for them. I will always feel like I need to do the most to give them everything that I can.

I love to sew clothes! It was a hobby I picked up during quarantine and I fell in love with making clothes for my two youngest babies.

What is the best part of your job?

The part of my job that I am sure to enjoy is seeing the kids gain new skills. Seeing the confidence that children gain from learning/doing something new a real joy for me.

I am an early intervention specialist and I have been at Brighton for 15 years.

What is one of the fondest memories you have while working with a child in the field at Brighton?

Around 10 years ago, I was working with a medically fragile little boy on how to manipulate a pop up toy. He worked hard the entire session to activate them and his mom was so excited when he succeeded.

What is the best part of your job?

I love making a difference in a child's life. Being a part of helping a child meet their milestones is rewarding in itself.

I love being able to teach parents how to help their child meet their milestones.

What inspires you?

Despite the obstacles the children face, they are determined to meet their milestones and that is inspiring.

I am an early intervention specialist and have been with Brighton for almost 12 years.

What is one of the fondest memories you have while working with a child in the field at Brighton?

There was a little girl that I used to visit who was vision impaired and she started showing interest in books with Braille when she was only 2.5 yrs old. Her parents were very involved and they started learning Braille at the little girl’s request so they could all learn this new language together I was truly inspired by their spirit, and perseverance.

What is the best part of your job?

The best part of my job is being able to help families by making sure that they are receiving all of the services they deserve. I like to explain to my families about different resources in the community and other programs that they can access.

What do you love most about working with children and their families?

What I love the most about working with children and families is to see how they can bond and learn together by coaching and guiding them in the right direction.

What inspires you?

I feel inspired by other coworkers that are very experienced and by the entire team since we truly help each other.

What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?

One thing that some people don’t know about me is that I have two wonderful children and an amazing husband that supports me every day.

My fondest memory was working with a child with Down Syndrome. She was the happiest little girl I have ever met. Helping her to learn how to walk and talk and simply being part of her life for 2 years brought me the greatest joy.

One of my fondest memories was when I would arrive to see this particular child, she would always get excited to see me and would raise up her arms for me to hold her.

What is the best part of your job?

I love working one on one with the children and preparing special activities for them to do during our sessions.

I really like teaching families how to use things in their home to create a fun activity for their children. I also like giving them new ideas about how to use a specific toy or object.

One of my fondest memories was when I referred one of my children to a orthopedic doctor. I was able to then see the child recover and take their first steps.

The children I work with is the best part of my job.

There are too many fond moments to chose just one. Every child has their own unique story of struggles and accomplishments. Me being able to see their first steps, and see parents with teary eyes after hearing their child's first words is unforgettable. I love that I am able to help our little ones accomplish their goals, it means the world to me.

The best part of my job is that we are able to help and make a difference in the lives of the children and families that we serve.

I love to see how families are so involved and determined to help their children reaching their full potential. Our little ones are the true definition of perseverance, they never give up!

I am an open book and a former ECI mom. I feel my own personal experiences make it easier to relate and work with families.

The best part of my job is helping children and families find a way to communicate with each other. Communication is my love language, so I love helping people learn that communication can take many forms.

I love witnessing families and children gaining confidence and strengthening their connection while they work together.

What inspires you?

I am inspired by that spark in the eye of a parent who feels empowered and the child who feels understood. I'm inspired by everything from the small victories to those big moments.

I am adopted, and so is my daughter. My mom, my daughter, and I all have the same middle name.

I am a pediatric speech-language pathologist and I have been at Brighton going on 2 years. However, my total years of experience working with the birth-3 years of age is 16 years.

What is one of the fondest memories you have while working with a child in the field at Brighton?

Seeing the emotion on a mother's face when they heard their child say "mama" for the first time.

What is the best part of your job?

Helping children and their families learn how communicate better with one another, and seeing how that success really impacts their relationship.

What do you love most about working with children and their families?

I love watching children and their families learn and grow together! To be a part of that process is very rewarding!

What inspires you?

Each family I work with is inspiring in a different way. Being able to watch a child become an independent communicator is such an inspiration!

Gosh, I don't know. Probably not much. I'm pretty much an open book!

I am a pediatric speech-language pathologist and I have been with the Brighton Center since August 2019. Prior to that, I worked at elementary schools both here in San Antonio and Dallas.

What is one of the fondest memories you have while working with a child in the field at Brighton?

My favorite moments are when parents reach out to me to tell me something new or exciting that their child did at home. Whether that be using their first 3 word phrase or trying a new sign on their own.

What is the best part of your job?

The best part of my job is watching parents light up when they see their child do something for the first time.

What do you love most about working with children and their families?

I love that everyday is a new adventure!

What inspires you?

I am inspired by the progress, no matter how big or small, that both the parents and children experience during our time together.

I've traveled to 16 countries (so far)!

I am a speech-language pathologist and have been with Brighton for over a year. I have 11 years total Early Childhood Intervention experience as an Speech Language Pathologist and an Early Intervention Specialist.

Being able to witness a child say "mom" for the first time.

Knowing that I'm making a positive impact in the lives of children and families.

What is one of the fondest memories you have while working with a child in the field at Brighton?

There have been so many over the years! However, what makes the biggest impact on me is when it's time for graduation and we realize the influence we have made when reviewing progress and seeing how emotional the parents are to let go and transition. We become a family!

What do you love most about working with children and their families?

I love being able to feel like our services give these children a  jump start to success. I enjoy the unique relationships that are built and that GOD allows me to be an instrument in so many families and their lives.

The small victories that our children make and the growth of our parents throughout the year is what inspires me.

I am a pediatric speech-language pathologist and I have been with Brighton for 20+ years.

What is one of the fondest memories you have while working with a child in the field at Brighton?

The first time a child I was working with ate by mouth, which were spoonfuls of puree cake for his second birthday. Another fond memory I have is when a child said "mama" for the first time after working on it for almost three years. The family called me back 2 years after graduating from Brighton to let me know that her child got in trouble for talking in class after he struggled so much to develop his language skills.

What is the best part of your job?

The best part of my job is working with the families and the children.

What do you love most about working with children and their families?

What I love most about working with the children and their families is watching them evolve, grow and transform. I love seeing parents become more comfortable in parenting a child with special needs and the children achieve their milestones.

What inspires you?

The children and their families. Especially when you know that the family's plate is full and they still give it their all with a smile!

Watching a child and their parents learn to communicate with each other. And watching a child start to develop skills while having fun!

I am a pediatric occupational therapist and I have been with Brighton for 5 years.

What is one of the fondest memories you have while working with a child in the field at Brighton?

It's hard to select one memory after 5 years of amazing achievements, tears (both of joy and concern), hugs and laughs. There are no words that can adequately express how overjoyed I am when my kiddos achieve a new milestone. The videos and texts from parents excitedly proclaiming "look they did it"! A sense of pride and astonishment when a child beats the prognosis given by their specialist. The overwhelming emotions of holding a parent as they cry from a new diagnosis or setback. Searching for the right words and guidance to support them; truly believing that sometimes those words are not from within, but provided from a divine source.

What is the best part of your job?

I get paid to play, snuggle babies, and bring joy…how can you consider that work?!?

What do you love most about working with children and their families?

What inspires you?

My father, he was always my biggest cheerleader, career Navy then retired Civil Servant, always giving so much of himself to others and his country. Though he will claim he missed out on it all and my mom was the hero, his words and "dadisms" as I like to refer to them echo through my head. From the lessons on how to change my oil and tires, how to negotiate, home improvement projects, and how to shake hands and mean it. While I may not have appreciated him when I was young and rebellious, I always respected him and his words were always with me. He taught me log ago that "every person you meet in life is an example to learn from, whether good or bad". IT wasn't until much later that I realized there was more to that statement. While I was busy learning from others, they too are learning from me. Was I the person they wanted to emulate or was I portraying the individual they never wanted to become. I don't always succeed, but in all things I strive to be an example worthy of merit.

What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?

When I went to school to be an Occupational Therapist I never wanted to work with kids. I begged my professor not to make me do a pediatric rotation as I knew there was no way I ever wanted to work with kids. One mandatory pediatric rotation and after 15 years I have never worked with adults.

I am a pediatric occupational therapist and have been with Brighton for 21 years. I also worked for Brighton as my first job right out of school for 7 years. I finished school on a Friday and started the following Monday!)

What is one of the fondest memories you have while working with a child in the field at Brighton?

Recently, a great moment was helping a child and their parents work on using a spoon. It was fun coaching the family over video and seeing the surprise in their faces after just a few trials when their little boy started making some attempts to use the spoon! He dipped the spoon in at least 3 times in a row to eat his yogurt! Another instance was a young boy who has had little interaction with others, his mom loves to paint and when encouraged to offer him a paintbrush he made some strokes! Now he "paints" several times a week with his mom!

What is the best part of your job?

I love meeting with families and children and finding their strengths. I think everyone needs affirmations and encouragement. I like to build self-esteem and confidence and watch it grow!

What do you love most about working with children and their families?

What inspires you?

The things that inspire me are learning about how people have faced a challenge and have figured out how to push through it. When I hear success stories it presses me to want to do more and reassures me not to give up.

What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?

I'm a pretty open book. This is not a wowzer, but when I was little I wanted to be an artist! My cousin tried to teach me to draw people. She liked Star Trek so the first drawing we practiced was of Mr. Spock. (Needless to say, I never mastered her art classes.)

I am a physical therapist and brand new to Brighton but have 2 years of specific experience in the clinic setting, hospital and in home.

What is one of the fondest memories you have while working with a child in the field at Brighton?

Some of my fondest memories was working with a kiddo on jumping for such a long time, while using different strategies and engagement from family members. The day she jumped by herself for the first time, I cried!

What is the best part of your job?

The best part of my job is helping our kiddos reach their full potential and allowing them to just be kids!

I love equipping and supporting families to provide them with the confidence that they are THE BEST FAMILY for their child. I love that part of my job is showing families how to best support their child and give them the tools to do so.

I am inspired by people who love to give without condition. People who live with an abundance mindset and love to share their resources (material or knowledge) for the betterment of others.

I have so many amazing memories that come to mind! It's always the first steps and the first time a child crawls. Experiencing the joy and excitement with the family is beyond words! 

What is the best part of your job?

Getting to see the progress the kids AND the parents make! Empowering the families to be able to help their babies brings me so much joy. Each goal achieved or milestone met deserves so much celebration and praise! You know that feeling of getting to witness someone's hard work paying off right in front of your eyes? I get to experience that everyday!

I get to work with the cutest babies and sweetest families.
