Texas Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) serves families with children birth to 36 months with developmental delays or disabilities. ECI provides family support and specialized services to strengthen the family’s ability to access resources and improve their child’s development through daily activities.

Eligibility Criteria

brighton-center-hand-onlyResident of the State of Texas, AND
brighton-center-hand-onlyBirth to age three, AND
brighton-center-hand-onlyDevelopmental delay OR
brighton-center-hand-onlyChildren who are delayed in one or more of the following areas of development:
Cognitive: difficulty with playing, learning and thinking
Motor: gross, fine and oral
Communication: limited understanding or responses in communicating with others
Social-emotional: attachment problems, limited parent/family interactions or behavior concerns
Self-help skills: feeding

brighton-center-hand-onlyChildren who may perform within their appropriate age range on test instruments, but whose patterns of development are different from their peers.
brighton-center-hand-onlyAtypical sensory-motor development: muscle tone, reflex or postural reaction responses, oral-motor skills and sensory integration
brighton-center-hand-onlyAtypical language or cognition: state regulation, attention span, perseveration, information processing
brighton-center-hand-onlyAtypical emotional or social patterns: social responsiveness, affective development, attachment patterns, and self-targeted behaviors
brighton-center-hand-onlyMedically diagnosed condition
Children who have a medically diagnosed condition with a high probability of developmental delay are automatically eligible for ECI services.
brighton-center-hand-onlyChildren with auditory and/or vision concerns should be referred for eligibility determination.
