A Guide to Navigating Special Education on Public School
Brighton Center's Special Education Support Services in partnership with the South Texas Alliance for Orphans presents a 3 part series titled "A Guide to Navigating Special Education in Public School" to help parents understand the laws that regulate special education and provides parents with the knowledge necessary to effectively advocate for their children/foster children in school. The series includes:
SEPTEMBER 12TH - Part 1 : RTI, 504 and Special Education Explained (2 hours) – This workshop will provide families an overview of all 3 of these different interventions/laws for kids with disabilities or learning disabilities.
SEPTEMBER 19TH - Part 2: ARD 101 (2 hours ) - This workshop will provide parents a detailed overview of the ARD process, what to expect and how to prepare.
SEPTEMBER 26TH - Part 3: Understanding IEP Supplements (2 hours) – This workshop will provide families an overview of common IEP supplements (such as Autism) and what to look for in these supplements.
You must register for each workshop separately. Please register each adult who is attending and each child needing childcare for each workshop you will be attending. Thank you!
