Just a few months ago, you had a tiny baby. However, before you know it, you’ll celebrate their third birthday. Before that happens, Brighton Service Coordinators will walk you through options for what happens next to ensure your child doesn’t lose any of the significant progress they’ve achieved while participating in Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) services.
In this month’s video, Special Education Support Services (SESS) Consultant and Trainer Girasol Margain provides an overview of what to expect when your child is preparing to transition out of the ECI program.
“The goal is to help parents find the best options that will help maintain the growth and progress their child made while receiving ECI services,” Girasol explains. In the video, she reviews what parents can expect during transition meetings and highlights the options for families to consider.
These options include:
- Early Childhood Special Education
- Private Therapy
- Childcare Settings
- Community Programs
This video, posted in our Special Education Library, explains the benefits of early childhood special education.
Girasol provides examples of what some of these options could look like for a family and reviews what parents can expect during transition meetings with Brighton staff. “We want families to know we are here for them the whole way! We will answer questions, discuss options, help find resources, and cheer them on. Their success is our success,” Girasol affirmed.
