Brighton has numerous volunteer opportunities throughout the year through special events, boards and committees, and program support.
Board Membership
Brighton maintains a working Board of Directors who provide oversight of the organization, its programs and financials. The Board of Directors may have up to 25 members, meets every other month (January, March, May, July, September, November) on the 4th Tuesday of the month at 6:00pm at Brighton's Higgins Road location. Board Members serve a term of two-years and are elected at the May and November meetings. Board Committees
The Board of Directors maintains 4 committees that are open to community volunteers. The Board Committees include the Advocacy Committee, Finance Committee, Fundraising Committee and the Nominations Committee. All Board Committees Meet monthly and report back to the entire Board at meetings. The Fundraising Committee has two subcommittees, Queen of the Vine and Fiesta Open, who help support specific special events. For more information or to join a committee, please contact

Brighton's largest fundraiser each year is A Taste of the Northside, and official Fiesta Event in April of each year. We also have the Fiesta Open and Queen of the Vine that happen around the same time. Each of these events requires support for planning and implementation in addition to support on the day of the event.
In addition to our fundraisers, Brighton hosts two family festivals and a Children's Holiday Party where volunteer support is necessary. The event dates vary from year to year. To volunteer for a special event, please contact

Program Support
At different times throughout the year, Brighton seeks support in one or all of its programs. Volunteers can offer to read to children in Bright Beginnings, provide child care in Precious Minds, New Connections or PALS while parents are in training, assist in stuffing mail outs and more.
