Angie Bridges (2003 Queen of the Vine)

"John F. Kennedy once said, “Children are the worlds most valuable resource and it’s best hope for the future.” It’s for that very reason that I believe so strongly in the work that The Brighton Center continues to do every day. They believe that all children deserve to live in a world where they can achieve their individual potential.

Being a founder of Brighton's largest fundraising event,  "Taste of the North Side”, is one of the proudest achievements in my life, and seeing it’s continued growth and success has been amazing, and truly humbling. Wearing the tiara as the first Queen of the Vine in 2003 was an honor and representing Brighton and all it’s programs was so much fun. I had the opportunity to meet and mingle with great people during my “reign” and made memories to last a lifetime. So, when approached to be involved in the Queen of the Decade campaign, I jumped at the opportunity. There have been many wonderful, strong and beautiful women wearing the Queen of the Vine crown after me and I am thrilled to be involved in this project with them, and play a role in the Brighton Centers bright future."

Angie Bridges is owner of Copa Wine Bar in Stone Oak.

Maria Resendiz (2004 Queen of the Vine)

"I discovered this incredible program after seeking services for my youngest daughter, Olivia, who had a motor delay. Since that time, I devoted my passion for teaching to our community mission of reaching out to families with similar concerns. Having worked extensively with other non-profit organizations in San Antonio , I am honored to bring my fundraising experience, service and vision to such a worthy community endeavor."

"When I was nominated as a candidate for the 2007 Queen of the Vine, my first thought was, "Can I do this?"  That thought was followed quickly by "How can I not?"

I first became involved with Brighton in 2004, when it was determined that my 2-year-old son had a speech delay.  After listening to potentially life-changing prognoses and reading through case studies of children with profound speech delays, the people and services of Brighton appeared as a beacon to let me know, that one way or another, there was help, and it would be OK. Today, my son is a thriving and happy 9-year-old.

Nicole is a full time mom who is a dedicated volunteer and supporter at her son's school.

Shelly Miles (2008 Queen of the Vine)

“I am passionate about Brighton Center’s mission to support families and children who have disabilities and developmental delays, so when I was approached to run for Queen of the Vine in 2008, I jumped at the chance!  I am excited to participate in the Queen of the Decade campaign, but have no interest in winning…I am just thrilled to be among the 10 amazing women that are all working together to raise the most money ever for Brighton!”

Shelly Miles is the host of WOAI’s daytime hit, San Antonio Living and is the traffic anchor for WOAI’s Today Morning show.

Cynthia Lee (2009 Queen of the Vine)

“One of the most rewarding opportunities is becoming an advocate for another human being. There is so much pleasure in witnessing joy rising, especially among children. When you support Brighton Center, you are giving one more child a chance at acclimating better in a socially demanding society. You are also teaching other children the beauty of compassion. I couldn't be happier to have aligned myself with such a fantastic non-profit organization dedicated to - our future - the future of San Antonio.

Cynthia is a former TV news anchor for KABB and is now the owner of Caruso Media, a publicity company as well as a Licensed Realtor for Kimberly Howell Properties.  When Cynthia is not out raising money and awareness for Brighton, you can find her on HGTV and Spurs broadcasts!

Jenine Beckel (2010 Queen of the Vine)

“Compassion, Inspiration and Empowerment” three simple words that encompass what the Brighton Center represents to me.   I am extremely supportive of all that this center provides not only for their children, their families but for all who work for this heartwarming organization.  Having been involved with Brighton over the years, I have witnessed children achieve their individual goals while proud parents watched along.  It is because of this “hope” that Brighton offers both child and parent that I continue to be so involved with this wonderful organization."

Jenine Beckel is an Executive Neuroscience Specialist for Bristol-Myers Squibb Pharmaceutical Company.

Amy Jackson (2010 Queen of the Vine)

"In 2009 The Brighton Center came into my home and became a personal part of my family’s life at an extremely challenging time.  I have witnessed, from the inside, the positive impact this organization has on children and those that love them.  It is from this personal perspective, and place of gratitude, that I was delighted once again to have the opportunity to elicit valuable funds to help further the good deeds of this powerful organization.  This year, I am joining the ranks of eight incredible San Antonio women to raise the most money in history for an organization that gives back to our most valuable treasures, our children."

Amy Jackson is a local orthodontist that practices at South Texas Orthodontics.
