Do you offer part-time enrollment? The health and well-being of the children enrolled in our center are the highest priority. Due to state regulations, strict child-to-staff ratios, our one-child-per-crib policy and other health considerations, Infant, Toddler and Transition Programs cannot be funded by part-time tuition. Therefore, we can only accept enrollments for a full-week (M-F) schedule for Infants, Toddlers and Transition classroom. We do, however, accept part-time enrollment based on availability in our Pre-School classrooms.
What is your policy for the release of children? A child may be released only to a parent or guardian named by the parent on the enrollment form. Anyone allowed to pick-up your child must show a valid Texas Driver License. Please notify the office in writing of any changes regarding pick-up authorization. In the case of divorced parents, it is important that the registering parent indicate on the enrollment form who has legal custody and who may pick-up the child. In the case of sole custody, the parent with custody is required to provide the center with a copy of the divorce decree. The confidential document will be placed in the child's file and is for the safety and protection of the child.
In the event, of an Emergency pick-up we are required to verify authorization. Anytime an emergency occurs, and a child must be picked up by someone not listed on the child's enrollment agreement, Texas State Law requires the following:
1) Parent must provide Bright Beginnings with the following information: a. A note or fax that is signed by the authorized parent/guardian. b. Name and physical description of the person who will be picking up the child. 2) The person picking up the child must: a. Present an identification card with a picture when picking up the child. b. Complete an Emergency Pick-up verification form.
Persons not listed on a child's enrollment agreement will be allowed to pick up the child only in an emergency situation, and only after the above procedures have been followed. Under no circumstances will a child be allowed to leave Bright Beginnings with an unauthorized person. Due to conflict of interest pervious Bright Beginnings employees may not be used an authorized, unless approved by the director.
Do you offer financial assistance for tuition? Bright Beginnings strives to provide opportunities for parents needing financial assistance for child care tuition through scholarships and the City of San Antonio's Child Care Delivery System (CCDS). The City's CCS program subsidizes child care tuition for low-income families and are available for both full and part time care. Qualified families may encounter a waiting period for services based on availability of funds. To receive CCDS funds, your family must meet the criteria outlined by the City of SAN Antonio. For more information on criteria and how to apply for CCDS funds, please visit http://www.sanantoino.gov/comminit/crd/crdchildcare.asp. Brighton also has limited scholarship funds available annually for families who have children with disabilities. Please contact the Center's Director for availability and eligibility criteria for scholarship funds.
