“ I believe that I would be the best queen for A Taste of the Northside, because I truly believe in the Brighton School, and understand why events such as TONS help Brighton to continue to help families. I have a very close lifelong friend that was blessed enough to find Brighton, and I personally witnessed the wondrous achievements that her son was able to accomplish because of the teachers and therapists at Brighton over the two years he was involved. My children have also attended the summer program at Brighton, and they have been able to live and learn the meaning of inclusion. I would be honored to be able to represent the children and families of Brighton, and would love to devote my time and energy to ensure that Brighton can continue to help children thrive.”

“ Everything I have ever loved doing has involved children. The more I worked with children the desire to work with children with special needs became greater.

Three days after hurricane Katrina my husband and I were handed a 3 day old baby boy to care for, little did we know 1 year later we would also be blessed with his newborn twin siblings. These children have all been drug exposed and are now receiving therapy from Brighton.

I now know why that need to work with children with special needs was so great. I am not only an advocate for my children, but for all children everywhere.

Running for Queen of the Vine 2008 is my chance to give back to Brighton, and organization that has given so much to me and my children.”

“ I would be the BEST Queen for A Taste of the Northside! First, I have been looking for a way to be more involved with Fiesta since we moved here 7 years ago. My husband grew up here and Fiesta is part of our family. To be part of it as Queen of the Vine for Brighton would be awesome! I’d love to show my kids what a 33 year old mom can do! Plus, I’d love to donate my energy and time to raise money for an organization which makes such an important difference in the community.”
